Sintered Mesh Filter
Sintered Mesh Filters are manufactured by laminating and sintering multiple layers of woven metal mesh under controlled temperature and pressure. The sintering process creates a rigid, stable filter medium with controlled pore size, excellent mechanical strength and consistent filtration performance.
Sintered mesh is particularly suitable for fine filtration, high-pressure filtration and demanding industrial processes where conventional single-layer woven mesh may not provide sufficient strength or stability.
Key Features
- Multi-layer stainless steel woven mesh construction
- High mechanical strength
- Excellent dimensional stability
- Controlled and consistent filtration rating
- High pressure and temperature capability
- Good resistance to corrosion
- Can be cleaned and reused
- Suitable for liquid and gas filtration
- Available in discs, cylinders, cartridges and custom shapes
Typical Materials
- SS304 / SS304L
- SS316 / SS316L
- SS316Ti
- Inconel
- Hastelloy
- Nickel
- Other alloys available upon request
Typical Sintered Mesh Construction
A standard sintered mesh may consist of 3, 5 or more layers, depending on the required filtration and mechanical performance.
A typical 5-layer construction may include:
- Protective layer
- Fine filtration layer
- Filtration/control layer
- Support layer
- Coarse support layer
The layers are sintered together to form a rigid composite filter medium.

Available Filtration Ratings
Depending on the mesh construction, sintered mesh can be manufactured for fine filtration applications ranging from approximately:
1 µm to 200 µm
Actual filtration performance depends on mesh specification, layer construction, fluid properties and operating conditions.

Advantages of Sintered Mesh
- High Mechanical Strength
Multiple mesh layers provide significantly greater structural stability than a single woven mesh. - Precise Filtration
The fine filtration layer provides controlled particle retention. - Excellent Pressure Resistance
Suitable for applications involving differential pressure and demanding process conditions. - Cleanable and Reusable
Depending on the application, sintered mesh can be cleaned using backwashing, ultrasonic cleaning, solvents or other suitable methods. - Corrosion Resistance
Stainless steel and special alloys provide excellent resistance to many industrial fluids.
