What is a pressure leaf filter?
Pressure Leaf Filter is a batch filter which make use of pressure to flow the slurry into the pressure vessel. These pressurised slurry then filtered by a stack of leaves elements. These leaves elements are mounted vertically on a common manifold pipe, through which the filtered liquid collected and flows out by manifold pipe.
For cake discharge, the filter cake is dried with compressed air, inert gas or steam, before the cake is discharged by a pneumatic vibrator connected directly to the vibrating shaft. In the case of wet cake discharge, the filters are fitted with an oscillating sluice pipe, which is located above the leaves. The filter cake is discharged as concentrated slurry via the bottom cone. Removal of cake is via a pneumatically actuated butterfly valve, or a simple and economical manual swing type cake door.
Jacket for hot filtration can be offered if desired. Pressure gauge & safety valve are provided on the top. The top cover is provided with davit arm mechanism for raising the lid for cleaning and removing the leaves.
Pressure vessel is made of Stainless Steel or Carbon Steel and filter leaf elements are made of Stainless Steel material. Pressure leaf filter are available from the filter area of 5m2 to 100m2 and are widely used in refinery, edible oil, food & beverage, oloechemicals industries, and kernel crushing plant (KCP). Pressure leaf filter vessel is designed and constructed in accordance with ASME VIII Div. 1.
